High RPM Spin. Beginning at a lower pace, gradually increase the speed by adding 20 percent higher than the normal pace. Keep practicing and maintain a smooth pedal stroke and steady your body's position. Work up until you keep up this high rpm pedal stroke for one minute at a time and repeat for 5 sets.

Listen to the Trainer. You will hear a humming sound as you begin using your pedal trainer. The variations in the hum determine the various parts of your pedal stroke that are not smooth and consistent.
